Essential Items for Airplane Travel

Whether you love or hate traveling and flying, these travel accessories will certainly make your trip more enjoyable, or at the very least, less miserable. Here’s some of the best travel gear to take with you on your next trip.

Eye Mask

Sometimes you just need to catch up on some shut eye, which is difficult to do if the guy in the window seat is staring at the sun-filled sky or the woman next to you is reading her book with the light eye. Luckily, if you bring an eye mask, none of this is a problem since you can simply shut out all light by slipping it on, and get some sleep by kicking back and reclining.

Noise Canceling Headphones

Similar to the eye mask, noise cancelling headphones can shut out the chaos of the airplane’s engine and maybe even a crying baby or two. Plug in to shut out noisy conversations and load up an mp3 player with relaxing tunes or your favorite albums. Be sure to bring your wired headphones with you so you’ll be able to plug in and listen to various playlists, films, and music videos available on the aircraft (depending on the airline).

Rechargeable Charger

Whether you get to the airport too early, your flight is delayed, or you’re on board and your phone is dying, it’s always a good idea to have a rechargeable charger handy just in case. Make sure it’s fully charged before you board, and double-check it with the plugs in the waiting area before boarding. Nowadays, some airplanes do have plugs on-board, but it’s best to not take a chance and be prepared regardless.

Sanitizing Wipes

It’s a pretty well known fact that airplanes are germ-filled containers full of people who are spreading more germs. Grab a packet of these compact wipes to bring on board and sanitize your space. Start with the tray table and work your way over to the arm rests and any spaces that you’ll likely touch during the flight. It’s also a good idea to bring them to the bathroom with you and sanitize the faucet handles and any other applicable areas before you touch them so you don’t get sick en route or upon landing.

Business Cards

Whether you’re traveling for business or pleasure, it’s always a good idea to have business cards with you in the event that you speak to someone interesting and want to keep in touch, or meet a potential client or partner that you think may be a good contact for your professional network. More of a practical tool than an essential, it’s useful to have these on hand. If your employer doesn’t provide business cards, there are some customizable websites – like Vistaprint or MOO – where you can create your own at a reasonable price.

Now that you have all of your travel accessories lined up and ready to go, be sure to book a ride to the airport so that you get to your destination on time and even get some work done on the way there with Luxor Limo’s complimentary Wi-Fi, which is available in your vehicle upon request.
