Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard

Located in North Salem in Westchester County, the Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard lets visitors access their grove for an enjoyable day of apple picking on a real working farm that also includes vegetables, flowers, other kinds of fruit and even livestock. Right now, the Macintosh apples are as ripe as ever and a full bag (weighing roughly 25 lbs.) only costs $30. Granite Springs plays home to the family-owned Stuart’s Fruit Farm, where pick-your-own apples went up for grabs on September 6th. Unlike other fruit farms in the area, this particular farm and orchard has been operating in Westchester County since 1828, expanding on its early days in cattle farming to a fruit, vegetable and flower farm. The September months at Stuart’s Fruit Farm bring vine-ripe apples of the Macintosh, Jonamac, Cortland, Macoun and Gala variety. And in October comes the big apple bonanza, when more than a dozen other varieties become ready at this apple picking paradise.
