Top Venues for NYC Spring Weddings

Spring is a beautiful time for blossoming buds and budding romance. It’s also a popular and picturesque season to exchange vows and witness promises for a lifetime of happiness. The worst part of city weddings? Definitely the lack of parking (as any New York car owner with tell you). Book a ride with Luxor to enjoy watching your friends get hitched without having to worry about hitching a ride or parking your car. That way, you can enjoy the best part of weddings in New York City at this time of year and soak up the rays (and open bar) without any worries. Here are some of the top venues for outdoor weddings this season.

The Foundry

Long Island City, Queens

A wondrous 19th century space with industrial character and high steel beams, there’s an ideal balance of nature and a feel for the city here. Plus, an indoor greenhouse, fully equipped industrial kitchen, and 3,000 square feet of possibility to customize the space or allow the natural loveliness to shine through the skylight with minimal effort.

-Several rooms available for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception

-Ivy strewn courtyard (with tent option)

-Rooftop balcony

-Stunning views of the city

-Plenty of space for long tables and guests

-Hotels nearby for your guests

-The Foundry recommends vendors (caterer, florist, etc.) so it’s easy to coordinate.

-The surrounding area is quite desolate and industrial

-Not a lot of space for the bride and groom to get dressed beforehand

-In-and-out on the same day or you’ll incur late-night rental return fees

The Green Building

Gowanus, Brooklyn

The 4,000-foot-space is entirely raw with a few chandeliers and exposed, whitewashed brick. The rustic feel allows it to be transformed into an elegant dining room or dance room as needed. The adjacent outdoor space transitions seamlessly into cocktail hour or dinner under the moon (depending on number of guests).

-Floor to ceiling glass doors to the courtyard

-Your own vendors are welcome

-High beam ceiling

-A/C and heat are available

-2,400 square feet courtyard

-Only four bathrooms

-Walk throughs can be difficult initially (they close at 6pm on weekdays)

-Furniture not included in rental fee

-Only street parking is available

-Can get quite dark at night, so extra light is necessary
